Mountain bikers / Cyclocross ready to roll through Dinosaur Country

— Lube that chain and air up the tires on your mountain or cyclocross bike.
Pack the lawn chairs, tent and related camping equipment.
Stock up on energy drinks and Power Gels.
Prepare to party — it's almost time to race your bicycle through Dinosaur Country.
At 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, mountain bikers from all over the region will saddle up and head out on the first of multiple 9-mile laps on the North Shore trails in San Angelo State Park.
Some racers will ride solo, completing as many laps as possible before the 8 p.m. deadline.
The faster mountain bikers will complete each 9-mile lap in as little as 40 minutes, which means they could complete as many as eight or nine laps during the race.
They'll get to "enjoy" 80 miles or more of dirt trails, rocks and cactus by the time six hours passes.
Sunset on Nov. 3 will be at about 6:45 p.m., so the six-hour racers will don head lamps and continue hammering over the trails after dark.
