Savvy Cyclist or Silly Bicyclist?

1 comment:

  1. Speaking as a cyclist/bike commuter myself:
Perhaps it will discourage the squeeze-by, but it will also incite frustration and road rage, which is far more dangerous. It will also contribute to the ever-growing bad attitudes that drivers already have toward cyclists. This is not productive. I have had people purposefully graze me, cut me off, swerve at me, spit at me, throw bottles(!) and other trash at me, all because I was taking too much of their precious lane. Frankly, I'm tired of hearing the horns...

If riders want to be safe and keep peace and harmony, pick a route with a shoulder, bike lane, or very light traffic (like neighborhood streets or county roads). It's not hard, I do it. No sense in stirring the pot by hogging a lane just because it's "legal".
