COFFEE COUNTY, Tenn. - A father was killed during a family bicycle ride on a rural road in Manchester Wednesday evening.
The incident happened just after 7 p.m. on Oak Hill Road in Coffee County.
Officials from the Tennessee Highway Patrol said that a family of five was riding bicycles on Oak Hill road when 40-year-old Stacey Floyd was struck and killed by a vehicle. Investigators said that there is no shoulder on this road and they believe the driver's sight was limited due to the sun.
Floyd died on the scene.
Police said the mother, 35-year-old Amy Floyd, and one of the couple's children, 10-year-old Faith, were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two of the couple's other children were not injured.
No charges were filed.
